Downtown Austin and Sixth Street

Today we went for a Sunday drive around Austin. Here is what downtown Austin and Sixth Street look like on a sunny November day.

Although this isn't quite downtown yet,
Chuy's is one of Austin's famous Tex-Mex gut bomb establishments.

Crossing the bridge.

Austin has lots of roach coaches and high rises.

View of City of Austin from the West

On my walk today, I decided to go up the hill to 360 so I can get a couple of shots of the Austin city skyline. It is a cool clear day. Cool for Austinites perhaps.

This is how small and distant it looks when not zoomed in.

This is all zoomed in.

Anyone know what kind of bird this is?

You see a lot of this kind of cactus growing around here.

Nice Playground.

Turtle Yoga

While visiting the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center near Austin, TX, we saw these turtles basking in the sun on a rock in a pond. It looked like they were doing yoga.
